Janis Dunning

I have spoken to millions of children on national television for many years,  always with an evident embrace for all cultures, religions, languages and regions of Canada.  I loved showing my love for Canada to the children on the shows with me, as well as to those who watched the programs from coast to coast.

These feelings were fed by a wide variety of cultural work opportunities where I experienced so many of Canada’s regions and peoples in person. I naturally became  fearless of all of our peoples  - and curious about their languages, stories of origin, lifestyles, their food!  - and beliefs.

In addition, I have represented a boundless pride of my homeland through my performing career in  Canada, England and in the United States - and in 1992, I wrote, and co-produced, “Experience Canada” / L’Expérience Canada”  - a live program which reached millions of Canadians in 105 towns and cities  across the country in just 125 days - and was also televised.
